Bunkers Cove Capital is a value-focused investment fund specializing in “under-the-radar” assets that generate cash flow. We love businesses that are unloved and/or misunderstood by the market.
Our Approach to Investment
- Seek, Identify, and Acquire Value in public or private markets
- Partner with existing management to:
- Optimize operations
- Deploy capital to help grow base business
- Identify and acquire related businesses that could be value accretive.
- Strong focus on capital allocation. Key tenants of capital allocation strategy:
- Optimize base business, invest in systems, people, etc. for organic growth
- Opportunistically seek to acquire related businesses
- Redeploy capital outside of base business if non-related opportunities provide better return profile
Our Focus
Publicly traded, or privately held businesses in the US. We seek to partner with founders of businesses who may be looking for a financial exit, but otherwise, may not be ready to retire.
Our Philosophy
We value our founders’ experience and want to provide an option to founders looking to ensure the business they have built, ends up in the hands of someone who will treat their business and their people well.
Unlike other investment firms, will never over leverage a business with hopes of squeezing out a few extra points of margin.
We value founders’ and their experience, and want to grow business with them. Ideal acquisition is to purchase 80% of business, leaving 20% with founders (although outright acquisition okay if preferred by founder).
Our Criteria
- Annual Revenue Target: $20M – $200M
- Cashflow generative businesses with history of profits (no start-ups or turnarounds)
- “Under-the-radar” businesses; the less well known the business/industry, the better
- Management team in place (Ideally at founder level). Although we take a hands-on approach and we like to partner with great management.
- Selling price: We cannot evaluate a business with out a selling price. We cannot go beyond an initial conversation without having the seller’s view on price.
